The Junior League University Program was developed to coincide with The Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton Counties initiative to offer training and personal growth opportunities for our members. The purpose of this program is to plan and supervise the education and training needs of our league and to develop leadership and training opportunities to enable each member to achieve her maximum potential as a volunteer. In order to do this, JLU provides varied and diverse training as well as a number of opportunities to receive these trainings.
Members who attend JLU sponsored events receive points for their training. JLU points are awarded as follows:
*JLU Event- 1 Point
*Civic/Community Events Outside JLGNF- 1 Point
*JL Leadership Events- 1 Point per full day attended
*Leadership Books Read- 1 Point
*Leadership Books Contributed to JLGNF Library- ½ Point
At the end of the JLGNF year points are tallied and degrees are awarded based on the number of points each member has earned. Degrees are based on the following point scale:
*Undergraduate 5 to 9 Points
*Graduate 10-14 Points
* Doctorate 15 or More Points
In order to receive JLU Points, members must e-mail the JLU Chair with the event she attended or the leadership book she has read or donated to JLGNF’s Leadership Library. The JLU Chair can be reached at jluniversity@jlgnf.org.
